courses
My current teaching mostly focuses on computer music and composition. Topics include synthesis and audio processing, Max/MSP and interactive audio programming, intro to sonic arts, recording, and acoustics. I’ve also taught core music theory and ear training, form and analysis, and a variety of graduate seminars on 20th/21st-century musics.

teachingmusic contains my current course materials, dating back to 2007. It’s in blog form. Courses are categories, and you can search for specific topics. Lecture notes on theory topics like phrases/periods/sentence structure/motives, secondary dominants, and writing and resolving V7 chords are pretty popular. Max/MSP posts seem to lag, but timer and tempo detections, and selecting and counting attract an audience.
